Forgive me for the late post on this one, life is what happens while your busy making other plans blah blah blah.

I took a short trip to Tromsø back in early February. Firstly I’d like to give some credence to all the travel photographers out there that have captured the Aurora Borealis in all its glory.  I never anticipated just how elusive and difficult it was to capture. Firstly the weather was mainly overcast on my stay and clear skies are crucial. Also, it is highly recommended that you take a tripod, something I had forgotten to pack, whoops. Nevertheless, this wasn’t the objective for the trip and I did manage one shot outside my Airbnb (which happened to be on the Northern lights tour)  If you do want some tips and advice on getting great shots of the Northern Lights give Dave Morrow’s blog a read

So if capturing the Northern lights wasn’t my objective on this trip, what was the reason? you might ask, well the clue is in the title:) It’s been on my bucket list for a while now to hang out with wild animals and as I never managed that on Safari in South Africa I thought a trip to the Polar Park (3 hours outside of Tromø) would be guaranteed. As Polar Park actually allows up close and personal contact with the wolves (at an additional cost). Even though I missed the boat, this time, I still got to take plenty of wildlife pictures of these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Polar Park is definitely a place I would d love to visit again.

I also took part in a dog sledding tour with Grant at Happy Tails Norge This is an independent run company whose prime objective is looking out for the dogs as well as the client’s wellbeing.
