On the Plus Side

For the most part of this year I have been shooting models from the relatively new, yet up and coming agency Milk Management Milk has a unique vision in not only wanting to represent and endorse it’s models but also aiming to ‘nurture’ and and take care of them. Their maternal approach to the modelling industry has already proven to be a hugh success. They already have an impressive number of models on their books, some of which have already graced the covers of Vogue and Elle:

Milks biggest achievement to date is it’s curve division. Milk’s director Anna Shillinglaw is extremely passionate about “bringing curvy woman to the forefront of fashion.” This revolution of sorts is already making headways with Marks and Spencer new ‘real women’ ad campaign and the likes of Milk Model: Robyn Lawley frequenting every high fashion magazine there is aswell as becoming the first plus size model to feature in a Ralph Lauren campaign. Jean-Paul Gaultier has also been known to use plus-size models in his runway shows so maybe the times are changing?!

For me this is something that is long overdue…In the past few years I’ve work with models of all shapes and sizes, some who couldn’t find agencies because they were too short, some because they were not thin enough and others who were not curvy enough to be a plus size model. All these models are beautiful in their own unique way irrespective of their shape or size. So I applaud Milk for trying to push the boundaries and reach outside the tightly closed box of the fashion industry.

Here are some of my photo’s of the gorgeous girls from Milk Management:

Allana: size 14

Harriet: size 16

Stephanie: Size 16
